Faidon Liambotis is a seasoned technologist, engineering leader, business consultant and advisor. His expertise lies at the intersection of open source software development, infrastructure and site reliability engineering.
Over the past three decades, he has worked as a software engineer, system administrator, network engineer, site reliability engineer and leader of such teams. As a people leader, he has a track record of developing and sustaining high-performance teams and nurturing new leaders.
He has worked, volunteered and consulted for organizations of global scale and impact, including a decade at the helm of Wikipedia’s infrastructure at the Wikimedia Foundation, as a director for the Open Source Initiative, a developer for the Debian project, and as Freexian’s managing director.
Faidon is an active contributor to the open source software movement, the internet freedom and digital rights movements, network operator communities, and to other volunteer-run organizations.
